====== Flatten ====== In trading, "flatten position" or "flattening a position" refers to closing an existing open position, whether long or short, to eliminate any market exposure. Flatten your current position by clicking the **Flatten Position** button. A market order will be submitted on the **opposite side** of your position, with a volume up to your **Max Clip Size**. If your **net position** is greater than your max clip size, it may take **multiple attempts** to fully flatten your position. **Note:** The Flatten button must be enabled in: **Main Properties → Window/Contract Window → Separate Order Type.** The Flatten button looks like this on your trade ladder: {{desktop:flatten.png?50}} {{desktop:flatten2.png?300}} ===== Pull on Flatten ===== **Pull on Flatten** attempts to **pull all working orders** in the selected market **before** flattening an open position using the Flatten tool. When **Pull on Flatten** is enabled, a **red box** will appear around the button to indicate that you are using **Pull on Flatten** instead of the standard Flatten function. **Note:** The Pull on Flatten button must be enabled in: **Main Properties → Order Entry → Pull section.** {{desktop:POF.png?800}}
