Ask your administrator if you think this is wrong. ====== Quote Board ====== The Quote Board displays quotes for multiple contracts horizontally. The most common columns are visible by default. Each market will be listed under its corresponding exchange and contract. The market will have a month, market mode, net change, and quotes. You can change the month displayed by clicking the market month and selecting a month from the dropdown. Only the current quote row will be affected. Market mode is an indication of the current market status. A green “Open” status means the contract is ready for trading, if the market is closed or unavailable then the status will be red; orange indicates a pre-open or pre-close state. The net change for the trading day is displayed in red if the market has moved down and blue if the market has moved up. Quotes are displayed with best bid price and volume in blue, best offer price and volume in red, and last traded price and volume in green. Many additional Columns are available in Quote Board Properties. The Quote Board also allows you to submit orders by clicking the bid and offer columns. Clicking a bid or offer price will open an Order Ticket ready to join the best bid or offer. Clicking a bid or offer volume will open an Order Ticket ready to hit the best bid or offer. To open a new Quote Board, click Quote Board option from the Main window’s New Item Menu. {{:desktop:qb_main_numbers2.png|}} - Properties Brings up the properties for the Quote Board - Print Allows you to Print, save to clipboard, or copy the account board to excel. - Add Contract Button Opens up the contract picker window which allow you to add and delete contracts - Strategy Activation Click here to choose how many contract months and which strategies you want to display in the market picker when selecting new markets. - Sort Lock Locks the columns and does not allow you to sort them. - DDE Link Enables dynamic streaming of data into Excel. Click the DDE button to make a copy of the current quote board as DDE links. Open an Excel spreadsheet and paste. Market data will begin streaming to the Excel spreadsheet. - Comparison Chart The Quoteboard can be toggled between a grid and chart display. - Tabs Clicking the Green Plus allows you to have multiple tabs on your quote board to easily toggle between different markets on your quote board. You are allowed a maximum of 8 tabs per quote board. - Columns Columns to display. You can add or remove the columns in the Order Book Properties ====== Adding/Removing Contracts ====== {{:desktop:qb_add_contract_button.png|}} The new contract button opens a Contract Picker that allows you to choose additional contracts to be displayed in the Quote Board. To display multiple markets for the same contract add the contract to the Quote Board multiple times. Once added, click on the contract month to change the duplicate to the market month you desire. Another option is to use the Quote Board Menu which has the Add Next feature. <WRAP center round info 100%> TIP: To Quickly remove contracts right click on the contract and choose Remove from the menu. When the desired contract is selected it will appear in the Quote Board. {{:desktop:qb_contract_pickernumbers.png|}} - Contracts will display just the Contract. - Markets Clicking the Markets button adds a + next to the contract that allows you to choose a specific month or strike. This is helpful with options as you can pick specific strikes instead of all strikes for a contract. - Search You can type either the name or symbol of the product to find it faster. - Add/Remove Clicking the < or > will add or remove the contract to the Quote Board. ====== Switching Markets ====== The Spread dropdown allows you to choose whether or not various strategies are visible in the Market Column drop down menu. Choose any strategy you wish to see in the market drop down menu. Drag the column header to move, drag the column header side border to resize, and click the column header to resort. {{:desktop:qb_columns2.png|}} By default the most common columns are visible in a new Quote board many more columns are available and can be added in the Quote board properties. * **Bid Price** The best bid price. This will be the highest bid price that has volume. It will be the first of all bid volume to trade. * ** Bid Volume** The number of contracts available at the best bid price. * ** Contract** (Default) The contract description. * **Exchange** The exchange where the contract is traded. This is mainly to help organize your Quote Board if you trade multiple exchanges. * **High** The highest price traded for the current trading day. * ** History** A histogram of the last 1-100 trades. * **Last Trade Price** The price at which the most recent trade occurred. * **Last Trade Volume** Last Trade Volume can be displayed as the last trade volume or the total volume of consecutive trades at the current price * **Low** The lowest price traded for the current trading day. * **Market** (Default) The contract month being quoted. * **Market Mode** Displays the status of the market. * **Net Change** The net change of the market for the current trading day. This would be the difference between the previous trading day’s settlement price and where the market is currently trading. * **Offer Price** The best offer price. This will be the lowest offer price that has volume. It will be the first of all offer volume to trade. * **Offer Volume** The number of contracts available at the best offer price. * ** Open** Opening price of the session. * **Range** The number of tics between the high and low. * **Total Traded** The total number of contracts traded for the trading day. * **Volume** Total volume for the current trading session * **Flatten** Displays the Flatten button, so you can quickly flatten any postions in the selected marekt. * **Net** Your net position in each market that was traded. * ** Pull** Pulls all the orders out of the selected market. * **Working Buys** Displays the amount of working Buys in the selected market. * **Working Sells** Displays the amount of working sells in the selected market. * **Cleared Volume** It is a number that some exchanges provide to us at the end of a trading session. The value is the total volume that was cleared for that market for the previous trading session, and so it should update once a day only. Total traded volume on the other hand is the total volume so far traded in the current trading session. * **Contract ID** The exchange symbol for the contract. * ** Currency** A short description of the currency the market trades in. * ** Denominator** Displays the denominator of the market. * **Exchange ID** The exchange identifier. * ** Expiry Date** The date on which the market expires. * **Last Trading Date** Last trading day for the contract. * **Market ID** Displays the Markets unique Market ID. * ** Net Change %** Displays the net change percent of the market. * ** Numerator** Displays the numerator of the market. * **Open Interest** Displays the open intrest of the selected market. * ** Price Code** Some exchanges, such as CBOT, have custom price formats that are not easily operated on mathematically. These codes determine the routine that is used to convert from a display format (price) into an integer format (ticks). The code overrides the numerator and denominator. * **Settlement** The last settlement price. * **Settlement Decimal** Displays the Settlement price decimal. * **Settlement Ticks** Displays the Settlement price ticks. * **VWAP** Displays the Volume Weighted Average Price. Note This number comes from the exchange. If they do not publish it we do not displaye it. ====== Column Layout ====== The Quote Board's column layout is fully customizable. Drag the column header to move, drag the column header side border to resize, and click the column header to resort. __**Moving Columns**__ {{:desktop:moving_columns.png|}} Move a column within the grid by dragging the column header with your pointer or mouse. * Click and hold the left mouse down on the desired column header. A vertical like will be drawn indicating where the column will be inserted. * With the left mouse button still down drag the column left or right. The vertical bar will move between columns indicating where the column will be inserted. * Let the mouse button up when the desired location is reached. **__Resizing Columns__** {{:desktop:resizing_columns.png|}} Resize the width of a column within the grid by dragging with your pointer or mouse. * Click and hold the left mouse down on the right border of the column header you want to resize. * With the left mouse button still down drag the mouse right or left. A bar will appear indicating the new width of the column. * Let the mouse button up when the desired width is reached. **__Sorting Columns__** {{:desktop:sorting_columns.png|}} Click on a column header to sort the grid. Click again to reverse the sort. <WRAP center round info 100%> **Note:** not all grids can be sorted. </WRAP> {{:desktop:sorting_columns_down.png|}} **Descending** order. {{:desktop:sorting_columns_up.png|}} **Ascending** order. ====== Quote Board Menu ====== The Quote Board menu is opened by right clicking on a single market. The following options are available from the Quote Board menu: {{:desktop:qb_right_click_menu.png|}} - **Trade Contract** Click to open a Contract window for the current market. - **Chart** Click to open a Chart for the current market. - **Profile Chart** Click to open a Market Profile for the current market. - **Spread Matrix** Click to open a Spread Matrix for the current market. - **Market History** Click to open a Market History Window for the current market. - **Add Next** Click to add the next expiry month for the current market. - **Remove** Click to remove the current selected market. - **Remove Duplicates** Click to remove any duplicate markets. - **Create Groups** Click to create enhanced grouping of the Quote Board. - **Copy DDE Link** Click the DDE link to make a copy of the current quote board as DDE links. Open an Excel spreadsheet and paste. Market data will begin streaming to the Excel spreadsheet. - **Flatten Position** Click to flatten any positons in the selected market. - **Pull Orders** Click to pull any working orders in the selected market. - **Options List** This is a list of any Options markets tied to the selected market. Clicking any of these in the list will pull up an Options Board for the current market. ====== Tabs ====== To save on screen space you can have multiple tabs on your quote board to easily toggle between different markets on your quote board.You are allowed a maximum of 8 tabs per quote board. {{:desktop:qb-tab-intro.png|}} To change the name of your first tab you can right click on the tab and select rename, from there you can type in whatever name you want to call that tab and click enter and the name will change. right clicking will also allow you to remove a tab as well. {{:desktop:qb-tab-rclk-rename.png|}} <WRAP center round info 100%> Tip: when clicking remove you can only remove 7 of the 8 tabs a default has to be left. </WRAP> {{:desktop:qb-tab-add.png|}} To add a new tab simply click the green Plus and white box will appear you can then type your unique name in the white box. In the screen shot above I typed in Grains as my name, click enter and your new tab will be named and created. Now you can click new contract {{:desktop:qb_contract_picker_1_1_.png|}} button to add the quotes you want on that tab. {{:desktop:qb-second_tab.png|}} Now that your tab is created you can simply click on the tab you want to view those quotes. <WRAP center round info 100%> Tip: the markets on the displayed tab will subscribe to those markets only the other markets in the tab are not being subscribed to. </WRAP> ====== Grouping ====== To create a group on the QB, right-click a row, and from the Create Group(s) sub-menu, choose one of the 4 options: {{:desktop:qb_grouping.png|}} * **"For This Row”** – Creates a new group for the selected row. * ** "By Exchange”** – Places rows in groups by exchange (any existing group setup is lost). * ** “By Contract”** – Places rows in groups by contract (any existing group setup is lost). * ** “By Expiry”** – Places rows in groups by expiry date (any existing group setup is lost). Once one or more groups are created, rows can be moved within or between groups by simply drag-dropping them. If the QB is grouped, a new menu item appears to clear the grouping. {{:desktop:qb_grouping1.png|}} Groups can be renamed and assigned colors. Right-click on the group header row and click Rename Group to open the Customize Group dialog window. {{:desktop:qb_grouping2.png|}} {{:desktop:qb_grouping_3.png|}} Simply enter a new name and/or choose a new color. {{:desktop:qb_grouping_4.png|}} * To remove a single group, simply drag the rows it contains into a new group. The group will disappear when the last row is removed from it. * Groups can be moved relative to each other using the buttons on the right side of the group row (circled above). * If the user clicks a column caption to sort rows, the rows are sorted within the groups. * If multiple tabs are used, each tab remembers it’s grouping and sorting and all this is saved/restored with user settings as well. ====== Expiring Month Roll ====== **Video Showing how to set this up.** [[https://youtu.be/TaU2TimdrEs?si=S8MICciTIM7IODoa|Expiring Month Roll Setup]] ====== Comparison Chart ====== The Quoteboard can be toggled between a grid and chart display. This Comparison Chart allows you to visually see what is happening across different markets without having to read numbers. You can use it for different types of contracts to see at a glance how they are trading relative to each other. You can enable the comparison chart by clicking the 'Market Comparison Chart' button to the right of the 'DDE' button. Markets can be compared by % Net Change, Volume, Money Flow, RSI and Rate Of Change indicators. For example, compare % Net Change of grains with treasuries, currencies, crude and gold: {{:desktop:comparisonchart-2d.jpg|}} The same markets but shown with history (requires Charting permission). Click on the bid and offer price columns to join the market, and click on the bid and offer volume columns to hit the market.
